Dr Louis Breger is an American psychologist, psychotherapist and scholar who received his undergraduate education at Cornell University and UCLA and a PhD in Clinical Psychology at The Ohio State University. He has been Professor of Psychoanalytic Studies at the California Institute of Technology since 1970 (currently, Emeritus Professor) and was Founding President of the Institute of Contemporary Psychoanalysis (ICP) from 1990 to 1993. He has published eight books, including the acclaimed biography Freud: Darkness in the Midst of Vision and, most recently, Psychotherapy: Lives Intersecting.
