  1. You didn’t mention past experiences in learning new habits after youth. I grew up with little dental hygiene but learned to floss my teeth every day. I didn’t even know what dental floss was until my thirties. Acquiring this habit took considerable perseverance. The hard part was doing it every day, without any encouragement from anyone. Well, it’s pretty boring. You don’t get a lot of outside support. So I am proud of acquiring this new habit and think it is a learning experience that I can build on in building up other new and better habits.
    Most people are like my mother however. She doesn’t learn – it is a point of pride with her. Learning is for children and unimportant people.
