  1. I remember the portrayal of Christy in “The Secret of My Success” as well. What really incensed me was the end of the movie where Brantley (Michael J. Fox, whom I LOVE) takes over the company, gets the girl and rides off into the metaphorical sunset. However, Christy, who was after all the person who helped him navigate the tricky buyout, was relegated to a clingy woman gazing admiringly at her engagement ring as she waited for her beloved. Not to mention the scenes where the elevator kept breaking down so Brantley and Christy could make out at work. Sigh.

    Oh, how I wish we could get beyond the gender discussion. I’m tired of having it. But until our communities understand and value women for their worth, we’ll just have to keep talking. And talking. And talking.
