  1. Thank you, Dr. Simon, for this very clear and substantial explication of the difference. As a mental health professional trying to write a letter to the editor of our local newspaper–following confused discussions both in the paper and on TV following the Orlando massacre about whether the shooter was “mentally ill” or just an evil follower of ISIS–I needed some help formulating the difference between psychosis and psychopathy, and your article helped as I was trying to pull an explanation out of my own head.
