  1. I have sent a question to ‘Ask the Physchologist’ and in it I have referred to my granddaughter as being defensive and aggresive when we mention her father. By this I mean that she defends her father with undeserved extreme loyalty even if no one has critized him, we only need to mention his name, and becomes aggressive towards us, in that she will actually run out of the house for 5 minutes, then return as though nothing as happened.

    Is this correct way to describe this behavior or not?

  2. Thanks for the comment and question, Susan. The circumstances you describe sound fairly complex. From what you describe, your granddaughter’s behavior sounds much more like a “protest” about some conflict-ridden issues surrounding the father-child and father-family relationships.
