All of us at CounsellingResource.com would like to extend a warm welcome to Australian psychologist Dr Gareth Furber, who joins our International Advisory Board. We look forward to incorporating Dr Furber’s perspective and feedback as we continue building and developing the site.
About Dr Furber
A Clinical Psychologist, Dr Furber completed his PhD in 2006 in the area of psychological recovery following heart attack and has additional clinical training in cognitive-behavioural therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy and motivational interviewing. Based in Adelaide, Australia, Dr Furber is now involved in developing a clinical research program around relationship-based therapies for children and their caregivers as well as providing CBT interventions as part of the Flinders Medical Centre CAMHS liaison team.
Dr Furber has a strong interest in the web and how it can be used to assist Psychologists in their professional development. He maintains an ongoing review of resources for Clinical Psychologists, researchers and students at PsychSplash.com, and he has recently launched an online community for Psychology Bloggers.
About Our International Advisory Board
When this site was launched in 2002, it was very much a one-person project. But over the years, CounsellingResource.com has grown rapidly, and by 2006 it became apparent that it had developed well beyond what one or two people could reasonably manage. In 2007, we began the transition to a broader production team, and the site is now the work of an international team of mental health professionals and web technology experts, including both volunteers and paid employees and consultants. Our International Advisory Board helps us maintain the high standards of quality you’ve come to expect from us, and many members of the Board are also regular contributors. (Just click the ‘About Us’ link for more details.)
Welcome aboard, Dr Furber — we’re very glad to have you on our team!
