ABILIFY is an atypical antipsychotic indicated as oral formulations for the treatment of schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, major depressive disorder, and irritability associated with autistic disorder.

Acetaminophen and codeine phosphate tablets are indicated for the relief of mild to moderately severe pain. This product should not be administered to patients who have previously exhibited hypersensitivity to codeine or acetaminophen. Codeine is habit-forming and potentially abusable. Consequently, the extended use of this product is not recommended.

ADDERALL^® is indicated for the treatment of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Narcolepsy. The mode of therapeutic action in ADHD is not known. Amphetamines are thought to block the reuptake of norepinephrine and dopamine into the presynaptic neuron and increase the release of these monoamines into the extraneuronal space.

Adderrall XR, a CNS stimulant, is indicated for the treatment of ADHD. The effectiveness of Adderall XR for long-term use, i.e., for more than 3 weeks in children and 4 weeks in adolescents and adults, has not been systematically evaluated in controlled trials.

Ambien (zolpidem tartrate) is indicated for the short-term treatment of insomnia characterized by difficulties with sleep initiation. Ambien has been shown to decrease sleep latency for up to 35 days in controlled clinical studies.

Amitriptyline hydrochloride is an antidepressant with sedative effects. Amitriptyline inhibits the membrane pump mechanism responsible for uptake of norepinephrine and serotonin in adrenergic and serotonergic neurons. It is indicated for the relief of symptoms of depression.

Amoxapine is indicated for the relief of symptoms of depression in patients with neurotic or reactive depressive disorders as well as endogenous and psychotic depressions. It is indicated for depression accompanied by anxiety or agitation.
