Antidepressants are used to treat depression, bipolar disorder and anxiety disorders. Antidepressants may also play a role in the treatment of ADHD and chronic pain.

Wellbutrin

Wellbutrin (bupropion hydrochloride) is an antidepressant of the aminoketone class and is indicated for the treatment of major depressive disorder. While not approved for smoking cessation treatment, bupropion under the name Zyban is approved for this use. Effectiveness of Wellbutrin in long-term use, that is, for more than 6 weeks, has not been systematically evaluated in controlled trials.

Zoloft

Zoloft (sertraline hydrochloride) is indicated for the treatment of major depressive disorder, OCD, panic disorder, PTSD, premenstrual dysphoric disorder, and social anxiety disorder. Concomitant use in patients taking monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) is contraindicated.
