At the moment my time horizon is short, and the longer view is decidedly fluid. I feel that I am in a place where I just need to go step by step, and this can have a heavy and plodding feel.
There is a dogma that says, “What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger”. I think the reality is that what doesn’t kill you can leave you maimed.
We have experiences where we become aware of different ‘parts’ of ourselves. This means that there is another part as well: a part that is aware of the other (conflicting) parts. This is sometimes called the ‘observer’.
Why is romance such a strong value? I think part of the reason is that our emotions are so excluded for much of our lives. Romance is one area where we are allowed to make a decision based on our emotions.
