I agree that creativity can be nurtured, but I have trouble seeing it my life. I have three siblings and all three have shown signs of having interest in art and other forms of creativity, but I consider myself to be much more active artistically and creatively. I see the world and those around me so much differently than they do. Without going into it, we had a very rough childhood. My siblings have a 'get over it' view about what happened. I can see how it affected them negatively. After pondering about my childhood, I finally had a moment of realization and turned my life around. I feel this strong sense of freedom now and I want my siblings to feel it, too. I honestly believe that the creativity in me is what helped me realize what was wrong with my life.

I constantly wonder what it is that made us so different since I don't have those easy-to-spot variables in my life. It's not like my parents enrolled me in art classes, encouraged me to daydream or even complimented me. They did the exact opposite. I remember being taught that daydreaming and imagination were sinful because they put false thoughts in your head. I'm just curious about what else could be responsible for this difference. I can't wait to read more about it. Meanwhile, I will keep pondering...
