Thanks May,

I wasn't aware of the ambiguity until you pointed it out.

About the drawbridge. I guess there are two phases: knowing when and knowing how. Knowing when comes down to intuition and experience (sorry, but there really is no other way - however awful the experiences we have had). Knowing how to is about finding the ways we shut down automatically and then using these deliberately (our posture, breath, thoughts, memories and so on).

I know this is a bit abstract. Please get back to me if you'd like to say more or if you'd like me to say more.

Thanks for your comment.

Hi Evan
I was first struck by the 'Open and Close' title - the "close" word's amibuity in particular - I read it as 'open and close' - 'close' rhyming with 'dose' rather than 'pose'... and aren't those words interesting too...(In need of a dose of closeness...)

Also wondering about the question of choice, or otherwise, in relation to being 'open' or 'closed'. I have particular trouble with finding any sort of reliable drawbridge to pull up in times of need - any handy hints on how to construct a strong sheild most welcome. - May

I like your analogy with eating. When I'm hungry for more stimulus in my life I try something new. Then I take time to digest it, to integrate it with the rest of my life. I can usually tell when I'm hungry and when it's time to digest.

Hi Evan!

Happy New Year!

I think I am more open than closed, Evan.
So my internal intergrity has to be geared for that and check in with my value system.
