    Hi Mary,

Thanks for your comment. It sounds like you have some great relationships! Relationships like those I wouldn’t trade them for the world either.

Thank you for posting this … I believe that each of these elements represent facets of what we come to define as ‘unconditional love’.

The description you provide of empathy is particularly relevant – understanding both mentally and emotionally, the changes that have been made and indeed are often continuing.

I would add that these are through multiple time zones in our lives – not just representing past or present interactions but also future intentions. Acuity and communication to validate needs, desires and to convey pleasure, satisfaction and highlight concerns that can then be addressed.

I’m fortunate to have good relationships – with my partner, my child and the close people that I’m fortunate to be able to call friends.

The other characteristics I’d add for good relationships would be those of loyalty, commitment, humility, grace and honesty.

Hi Sheilina. I really like your emphasis on the future.
“Acuity and communication to validate needs, desires and to convey pleasure, satisfaction and highlight concerns that can then be addressed.” This is so well put – I wish I’d written that sentence.
      Thanks for your comment.
