		<description>Thanks for your input Jerry - it does seem that your client group could make far better use of a &#039;psychological&#039; placebo than children. One of the questions is of course how they got to be so &#039;medication seeking&#039; in the first place... a big question for our whole culture I think.</description>

		<description>Sarah, I just wanted to say that I agree whole-heartedly with your thoughtful commentary. However, as a clinical psychologist in a prison setting I deal on a daily basis with hardened criminals who are medication seeking but have no real psychopathology. I sometimes wish there was a placebo I could give them that would magically make all their self-diagnosed disorders go away and free up my time to care for those inmates with legitimate mental illness. Still, I think your fears are coming to fruition, particularly in Western culture. We are increasingly teaching our children that little pills will fix all their problems, problems which several years ago we used to be called childhood.</description>
