Free Musical Collage from Guest Contributor Kathryn Keats
Regular readers will remember Kathryn Keats, the singer and songwriter who penned some guest contributions for us about her experiences being held captive and spending years in a victim witness protection program, unable to perform her music in public. Now she’s released the first of her new singles, and you can download a free musical collage of more pieces from her new CD right here.
You may remember Kathryn Keats, the singer/songwriter who wrote about her experiences being held captive by a man later diagnosed with schizophrenia. (See her “Excerpt from The Ascension: The Kathryn Keats Story”, and her later “My Name is Ellen: More From the Kathryn Keats Story”.) Now thoroughly out of hiding and back into the music business in a big way, Kathryn has been hard at work with her producer Tony Valenziano, putting together her latest CD. I’m told it should be available in time for Christmas.
Kathryn dropped us a line the other day with an update about her new CD, and she included a ‘musical collage’ of some of her new material, which she has kindly given us permission to provide to you here, for free. So if you’d like to get a taster of the Kathryn Keats sound, here’s your chance! The MP3 sample is 5:08 in duration, encoded at 160 kbps:

Apparently iTunes made a mistake with the listing for her new single and has called her ‘Katerina’ — so if you have any trouble with the iTunes links above, try an iTunes search on ‘Katerina Mission of Love’ instead. If that still doesn’t work, it may be that the iTunes mistake has been fixed, in which case searching on ‘Kathryn Keats’ or just ‘Mission of Love’ may be the best bet.
Just on an initial hearing, I have to say I prefer this sound to some of Kathryn’s earlier work — it seems to me to have a softer, yet also more self-confident feel to it. If I can put it this way, at the risk of sounding all amateur-music-critiquey, this is music that invites, without demanding.

We are at the printer with the record…Wow..It is happeneing…Life is coming back and I am aware of how great it is and how much work there is to do every day to stay responsible for making sure I stay with the pulse of the moment and as much in the light as humanly possible. The record is available! We are thrilled and I cannot tell you all how much it means to me that the collage was first heard here. To get the CD go to my site, for now, and I will get it off to you pronto. We have a special community here and you have all helped me through so much. There is music again! My heart is alive! There are no words but as you know, I will be bringing some soon!! There is still a lot of work to do to move forward this process of coming back into life. Shall we all??

Readers Digest March has broken the story about my true life.”Possessed by Love”. Eighty million people read this magazine and the magazine has been incredible to work with. I hope you all will be with me on this journey into marrying Ellen and Kathryn back together. I can only think to do it through music. If you choose to grab the CD it is available for you on my site (not yest released) !
The ride of a lifetime is coming out of hiding. I had no idea it would bring with it so many people who could not find me and so much love. Also, bringing me to a place of wanting to simply be of service and sing my music. I may need a little help as we go along and I am confident that you are the place and the people to be with during this time. The screenplay, by Chrisanna Northrup, is ready to go, and I will have the transcripts of interviews that Stan Prus did with me about the whole story transcribed and we will finally have our book, The Ascension. Please stay in touch. It is I who need you now.Also, there is nothing that makes me happier than knowing you are enjoying the music on “After the Silence”. Let me know if it brings you joy when you get it.

I have recently been in youch with Kathryn and i want to get her music heard here , i love it i think more of us need to hear what beauty lives inside of her…… i will soon have her cds for you to hear we need to have them ready aviable for everyone …… they are so affordable and well there now in bc …..i am in northvancouver …. would you like one ?
