Looking for information on sleep disorders like insomnia, narcolepsy, or restless legs syndrome — or just looking for tips on getting a good night’s sleep? Our new section includes sleep disorder resources, and we’ve added information on zolpidem tartrate (Ambien) to our Medications Centre.

Although not normally considered mental health problems in and of themselves, by some estimates there are nearly 80 different sleep disorders, and all of them can exacerbate — or sometimes even bring about — the symptoms of psychological disorders. Sleep disorders affect some 70 million Americans.

Our new section on Sleep Disorders provides background information on insomnia (which can trigger mania), sleep apnea, narcolepsy, hypersomnia, and more — including tips on getting a good night’s sleep. We’ve also added information on zolpidem tartrate (sold as Ambien or Stilnoct) to our Medications Centre, including the latest research news on the medication.
