Tsunami Support Database Closes to New Volunteers

After a little more than three months of operation, nearly 200 volunteers, and successful liaisons with several international aid organizations, our database of mental health volunteers willing to assist with the tsunami recovery effort is now closed to new volunteers.

After more than three months, nearly 200 volunteers, and successful liaisons with several international aid organizations, we’ve decided to close our database of mental health professionals to new volunteers.

This will have no effect on existing volunteers who have already been included in the database, and whose details have already been passed to several international organizations for consideration. However, it does mean that any new volunteers who may wish to volunteer to support those affected by the tsunami will need to approach aid organizations directly.

We’d like to thank all those who volunteered once again for their kind response to our appeal for volunteers, and you can be assured that we will continue to respond quickly to all requests from bona fide aid organizations seeking mental health professionals to assist with tsunami recovery efforts.
