Online Counselling Service Guide
The Managing Editor Dr Greg Mulhauser is pleased to provide online therapy and email counselling services as well as face-to-face counselling for a strictly limited number of clients.
Why Try Counselling by Email?
I believe that most people, most of the time, already have within themselves most of the resources they need for living happy and effective lives. However, sometimes circumstances -- external as well as internal -- can make it hard to make the most of these resources.
That is where many people find a counselling or psychotherapy relationship helpful. I aim to provide an environment where you can explore whatever you would like to explore, where you can think the unthinkable, feel the unbearable -- and know that there is someone else nearby, a companion who will join you in the experience with understanding and patience, but without judging you. I describe something of what this is like on the page called What to Expect?. If you'd like to try email counselling, just visit the Getting Started pages now.
The separate section About Counselling includes notes describing some of the reasons why peope seek counselling as well as some of the general benefits reported by counselling clients, in addition to help with specific problems or concerns.
The Online Counselling Services I Provide
In the menu at the side of the page, you'll find a wide range of information about the internet-mediated counselling services provided here at CounsellingResource.com, roughly grouped under 'The Process' (including How Does it Work? and What Does it Cost?), the question 'Is Online Counselling Right For You?' (including Advantages, Disadvantages, and questions about the Suitability of Email Counselling), plus 'Practice Background' (including my own Practice Philosophy and information About the Counsellor, and information about the practice of our Associate Counsellor Sarah Hayes).
A separate page addresses Encryption and Security in internet-mediated counselling; another focuses on Hints, Tips and Caveats for Effective Email Communication.
Existing clients already working via email can top up their accounts at Existing Client Top-Ups, or convert from the pay-as-you-go WordBank option to the Unlimited Option.
