Consumer Guide to Counselling and Psychotherapy
In terms of print resources designed to help individual clients navigate the wide range of counselling and psychotherapy options, this book is at or near the top of the list. Concise, comprehensible, and practical, it is probably one of the best investments a prospective client can make prior to beginning counselling.
Counselling and Psychotherapy: A Consumer's Guide.
By Windy Dryden and Colin Feltham, 1995. ISBN 0859696928. Sheldon Press. 156 pages.

Originally published as part of our ‘Top Picks’ selection in 2003, but without a full review, this book is now starting to show its age. However, I’ve retained the listing for this book here in the new reviews section specifically because I still believe it is a great introductory resource for consumers.
