What Can You Do at CounsellingResource.com?
Whether you want to keep up with the latest news, find articles on specific topics, or even syndicate our content on your own site, a selection of site tools can help you make the most of our information on counselling, psychotherapy, and mental health.
Searching for Mental Health Information
Each page of the site includes a search box at the top right: just enter the terms you'd like to find, and our built-in site search engine does the rest. If you'd like to fine-tune your search, or even use the familiar Google search engine to find articles specifically on this site, just visit our Search Help page.
Printing
By popular demand, we've now incorporated a built-in easy printing function to enable you to print pages without all the site menus and other graphical items that don't do much on the printed page except use up your ink or toner. No separate 'version for printing' page is necessary: just select 'Print', and any modern web browser will automatically detect and use our special layout instructions to deliver the page content itself straight to your printer.
Keeping Up: RSS News Feeds and Email Notifications
A whole batch of different RSS feeds can help you stay up to date with general mental health news, postings on our discussion forum, or the latest articles and comments published in our blog and short features.
For more information on making the most of our RSS feeds -- either in your own newsreader or for display on your website -- just check our page on Automatic News.
If you're a practitioner interested in online clinical asupervision or online therapy training and development materials, you can register your interest on the online therapy paper downloads page and be notified by email when new materials become available in this area of the site.
Last but not least, you can use a built-in feature of our discussion forum to keep up to date with the latest discussions via email: once you've registered for the discussion forum, you'll find a small checkbox at the bottom of each discussion thread page which will allow you to be notified whenever a new post apears. In addition, whenever you make a new post yourself, you can check a box instructing the forum software to inform you automatically when someone replies to your post.
Clinical Trials Information Database
If you'd like to find information about the latest clinical trials in mental health and other health areas, we maintain a separate searchable database at ClinicalTrialsFeeds.org, which brings together a wide range of resources from the US National Institutes of Health and provides them in an easy-to-use RSS wrapper, or as ordinary web pages.
Open Source Encyclopedia Supplement
Just in case you can't find what you're looking for on the main CounsellingResource.com site, we're also working with the renowned Wikipedia content collection to bring you a separate open source encyclopedia supplement. You can reach the encyclopedia directly at PediaView.com, or you can search it from each page of the Other Web Resources section.
Google Topics for Mental Health Site Reviews
Whether you like to live at the bleeding edge of technology, or whether you just want the best results for your search engine efforts, Google's new Topics service, part of Google Co-Op, can help you weed out the junk and focus in on the kinds of sites that you personally find most useful.
We're now providing our full set of mental health site reviews (from our Other Web Resources section) in the form of Google Topics annotations -- just drop by the Managing Editor's annotation profile page to subscribe to the full set of mental health site reviews. Be sure to click on that giant 'Subscribe' button to get the benefit of the annotations file.
When you perform a search related to one of the sites we've reviewed, you'll have the option of narrowing down your search using tags and review comments that we've associated with the reviewed sites. You can easily unsubscribe, too, so feel free to give it a test drive and see how you like it!
